V.I.P. Week

Conrad was chosen as last weeks's V.I.P. at school. In order for the his mates and teacher to get to know him better, he was given a little questionnaire and asked to bring in family and pet photos.

Here is what his answers were to the questionnaire and the photos that he took to school.

Vintage Photo Display

I love to have old photos on display.  This was a fun cute frame I found at a yard sale, and it was not in the best condition to give as a gift so I decided to do something with it.  Since it was part like a shadow box, I placed photos, scrap paper, and buttons, inside to keep with the pastel fun "little girl" theme.

Your photos always tell a great story.  This was a great memory of an aunt that was dear to my heart that past away a few years ago.   Treasure your old memories and photos, and think of fun new ways to display them so all can see the story of your life.

My aunt Sharon did my hair like a little princess. She even had a real hair dresser dryer. I was so excited and impressed and pampered.

The first waffles I ever ate were made by my aunt Sharon.

The last time I visited her we went into her garden and pulled out the root that makes horseradish and made a killer batch. It was the best freshest horseradish on the planet.

I will never forget my aunt Sharon.

Country Cafe Breakfast - Bothell, WA

Mostly weekend breakfasts are at the Woodinville Cafe. Lately we have been going to the Bothell Country Cafe at Country Town. No crowds, lots of room, and a quaint country atmosphere, complete with chickens in the parking lot!

Conrad's Pic's

Conrad was given my "old" Camera before our Missouri trip. He loves taking pictures and some are really quite good, even great!

Here are some of the ones I thought were really great. I will also post later some of his "odd" shots!

You gotta love the pic where you see me sitting in the seat behind Conrad on the plane sleeping! Arghhhhhhh!

Hooray for the weekend!

If he is not riding his bike, he is playing with the kids outside, or the wii!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mom got a call from Shawn, Jason, and Laura.

Flowers from Kevin, Conrad, and Scott & I.

Kevin's flowers are the pretty purples and pink's!

Conrad picked purple Rhodie's from our yard, and also helped pick out a bouquet from Pike's Place Market in vibrant yellows and blues.

She loves everything!

wii

Well, Scott broke down and opened his wii game. He had delusions that he would save it forever and when we were old and grey open it up and make a killing. I laughed when I heard this, and said,
"What are you talking about, the game Mari Go Karts is super fun, and I want to play!!!"

Well, we only have wii sports, and have just set up our mini mii's.

Conrad's mii isn't supposed to be Conrad, he says it is Michael J after Michael Jackson...It is creepy. I think we will set up Conrad a mini mii soon!

Kids... Just being Kids

Waterfront Traditions

We have a few waterfront family traditions. We go to the Aquarium, and see the Fisherman's Pier Merry Go Round, then eat fish and chips at the Crab Pot. If we have time we wander in the Olde Curiosity Shop too!

Teacher Appreciation Week

This week is teacher appreciation week at Helen Keller school.

When we were in Missouri, we made a pinecone bird feeder at the St. Louis Butterfly House during their Green Week to celebrate Earth Day on April 22nd.

We thought it was such fun that we would make them again when we got home. A perfect gift for teacher appreciation week.

Petting the Stingrays

The St. Louis Zoo really is cool. We spent almost the entire day there.

Most of our time was spent around the Stringray pool. I watched in fascination as they would glide, circling the tank and as a still hand held underwater would bring them by for a pet.

Gently swipe your hand straight down the middle of their backs, but not the wings or they would splash and flip water on you, and not the tail either.

Conrad was in awe and asked question after question..

ZOO

The Arch was exciting for Conrad. We had to wait a few hours for a fix. It seemed we just missed the 10:30 ride and as we waited for the 11:00, a whole class of kids were stuck at the top, or in the trams for over an hour.

We watched the movie of the making of the Arch, walked through the store, and the old time mercantile before we were told the next ride would be 1:15.

It was worth the wait. The cloud cover dissipated and the views were really spectacular.

My last visit to the Arch was when the weather was nice, but rather windy. The structure swayed and made my stomach lurch uncomfortably.

This time it was a nice sunny day, and thankfully no breeze!
