The Male Room - Card for Kevin

The Male Room - Card for Kevin

I would really like to start making
masculine cards regularly(!)
I have 6 brothers and I really should be sending
more out to them!

and
are on the DT at The Male Room.
I adore their creations!!
I look forward to getting to know the other DT there as well.
I will have to start participating!

I made this card for my brother Kevin.
Kevin called last night and about six weeks ago almost severed
3 of his fingers.
Yikes!!!
He told us he is doing better and has 90% use back.
Glad he is doing better.
( Wheeeeew, right! )

My very first entry to The Male Room: This CUE  = VINTAGE!

Noooooooooo, I have to just DO IT.
Humnnnn Yeah,
I am a hands on learner, no doubt about it.

I am liking my progress so far.

The Making of Mother's Day Card - Sweet Life

The Making of a Mother's Day Card

Sometimes you have to just sit back and practice.
I am a Taurus peeps.
Strong willed, bull headed, head strong, though
creative and ..well IMPATIENT.

I really have no patience with stamps I have to align up.
Though I love them so.
I was smitten with this little picture in a shabby chic or vintage finds magazine.
Since I kept thinking about it,
I decided to design a card based on the inspiration.

Yikes, I would need to use the Sweet Life PTI set.

Here is my first go at this design based on the inspiration pic below. I realize I want to add more greenery under the popped up cup...I will refine the design.
I loved, loved the teapot in the inspiration pic,
though I do not have a teapot die
(I ordered the Besotted one....)
Though for now, I can use my Memory Box Dainty Tea Cup

Oooooooooh I can't wait until I get the teapot DIE, it will look adorbs!!!
Uggghhhhh The agony..... LOL
Supplies:
PIT Sweet Life Set
Memory Box Dainty Tea Cup Die
Hero Arts Night Chalk Ink
Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue, Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise
Brilliance Mediterranean Blue, Heri Art Green Hills (Mini Shadow Ink Cube)
Versacolor Winters Green

LOVE IT - Cure for the Monday Blues #10

really has the designer eye!
Check out her weekly photos Inspiration Challenge
Do not be intimidated, this is a FUN way once a week to perk up and create anything YOU want with fun flirty or RAD trendy, or modern imagery!!!

LOVE it when I can just interpret any way I want.
I am on a roll and I
don't think I have missed one yet!

My interpretation explained:
I used the blue newsprint for the brocade wallpaper,
And the coverlet is my main panel of tone on tone images.
I wanted the feel of a freshly made bed in white so I used a banner of white glitter ribbon and a crisp shiny white layer under the main panel, and left more white on the base itself .
The butterfly shape is a nod to the chandelier.
The button is a fresh fun girlie flair
that pulls some pink into it.
And the black...well I LOVE black so
I had to pop some in!

I was sent a message today that Kelly received my
package for Emma
Here is how I packaged it.
I wrapped it in plastic bubble wrap then blue dotted wrap
gold twine and a bright orange resin bloom!

I sent a little HELLO card from me
on top with a note that the cards had fun sticker sentiments,
though were message free in case the family or Emma wanted to send them!

Helping others always warms my heart!

Just Keep Swimmin' - Sketchbook Saturday

Just Keep Swimmin'  - Sketchbook Saturday

I was actually looking for something on Chupa's blog
when I stumbled across the cutest ladybug card she posted.
And it so happened it is the most current
Sketchbook Saturday Sketch!
I thought how cute the card is with Penny Black itty bitty ladybug,
it is actually a large image stamp.
(Check it out HERE)
I don't have any of those.
I guess I am finding out the kinds
of stamps I shy away from.  Interesting.
Well.. I did a card last year where two fish were talking
to each other, and a speech bubble would be perfect.
I could CASE that card.
So I did.

This is a FUN one, PLAY ALONG!

Here is my take on the Sketchbook Saturday:

Supplies:
Viva Las Vegas Fish Stamps
AMuse Sentiment
Embossing Folder Lifestyle Crafts for Cuttlebug Tides
Accents Cloud9 Rain Dots Stickers
Tsukineko Memento Tuxedo Black
Signo White Gel Pen

I hand cut my large speech bubble.
I know that Paper smooches.... I think has a die that does this.
...Though I will tell you that when I finished my card and went back to take a closer look,
I smiled to see that Chupa hand cut hers too!

This is me, stamping the images on colored cardstock
and the using a Signo Uniball White Gel pen to color in areas.
I then went over
"Dori" with yellow and red copics

And here is the card I CASE'd,
I like my recent one much better!

(Linked to my original Post HERE)
